Highway 1 Blocked by Activists Demanding Gaza Deal

Protesters from the Hostages Families Forum shut down Highway 1 near Sha’ar Hagai, near Jerusalem, on Sunday morning, urging the government to finalize a hostage release deal. Police moved to reopen lanes ahead of the prime minister’s expected motorcade, as demonstrators accused him of “abandoning the hostages” nearly 700 days into their captivity. “You and your family are preparing for a lavish wedding, sticking a finger in the eye and a knife in the heart of the hostage families, whom you abandoned and who are wasting away at this very moment, almost 700 days already,” the Hostages Families Forum said.
