Serious Air Force Incident in Northern Gaza

In a near-miss incident in northern Gaza, an Israeli Air Force fighter jet accidentally dropped a live combat bomb due to a technical malfunction, landing just hundreds of meters from an IDF position where soldiers were present at the time. The bomb veered off course and exploded several hundred meters from the troops, throwing rocks and sand toward them. Remarkably, no soldiers were injured in the incident. The explosion struck an IDF position along Gaza’s northern coastline, which was unoccupied at the time. However, the area is intermittently manned, highlighting how the event could have had far more serious consequences. The IDF confirmed the incident, stating: “The event is known and is being investigated by the relevant authorities. Fortunately, no casualties occurred.”
