IDF Special Unit to Retrieve Hostages Under Heavy Fire Cover

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have completed preparations for a high-risk operation to retrieve the living hostages expected to be released tomorrow. According to Yoav Zeitun, a special forces unit will enter the Gaza Strip beyond the “yellow line” in a heavily armored convoy, accompanied by tank and infantry support. The troops will stop at a predetermined location secured by an extensive perimeter defense. To ensure operational safety, air units will conduct covering fire to isolate the area and prevent hostile elements from approaching. At that site, representatives of the Red Cross will hand over the hostages to the IDF team. Upon retrieval, soldiers will perform an initial verification of the hostages’ identities and inspect for any explosive devices or tracking mechanisms — including those potentially hidden inside their bodies. The armored convoy will then proceed to the Re’im reception center, where the hostages will undergo medical evaluations before reuniting with their families.
