NBC News reports: U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by phone yesterday and urged him to reduce the intensity of Israeli strikes in Lebanon. The request is aimed at keeping sensitive negotiations with Iran on track, according to a senior U.S. administration official. Although both the Trump administration and Israel have made clear that Lebanon is not covered by the current U.S.-Iran ceasefire, Israel has agreed “to be a helpful partner,” the official said. The call came just one day after Netanyahu publicly vowed to continue striking Lebanon “forcefully.”
