IDF Chief says Israel "in state of war" on Lebanon front, not in ceasefire
IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir stated during a visit to southern Lebanon near Bint Jbeil that Israel remains "in a state of war" on the northern front and is not in a ceasefire. "We continue to operate here on this front—this is our primary operational focus," Zamir said, adding that the IDF is deepening operations in Lebanon's forward defense area to remove direct threats to Israeli communities. Zamir claimed Iran has been significantly weakened and Hezbollah is now "isolated" within Lebanon, cut off from strategic backing. He referenced recent strikes in Beirut and Beqaa Valley, stating "the terror organization is being affected deeply."
