Syrian Druze spiritual leader thanks Israel for support during recent violence

Hikmat al-Hijri, the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Syria, publicly thanked countries that supported the Druze during what he described as a massacre and genocide. He singled out Israel, stating: "We thank the countries that stood by us during the massacre and genocide we experienced, first and foremost the State of Israel with all its components, whether they are Druze or not."
