IDF Chief of Staff Visits Lebanon, Vows to Hold Line Until Northern Security Ensured
IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir visited the 36th Division in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, stating the military has achieved its mission to position forces along a line preventing direct fire on Israeli communities. "We will not tolerate attacks and fire on our communities, and we will not leave until long-term security for the northern communities is ensured," Zamir said. He instructed forces to continue operations, remove threats, dismantle terrorist infrastructure, and eliminate terrorists. Zamir praised commanders as conducting "exemplary battles" not seen since 1948, noting that Hezbollah draws strength from Iran, which Israel has "struck severely."
