Lebanese President Aoun Criticizes Hezbollah in CNN Interview

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun made unusually harsh statements against Hezbollah in a CNN interview, telling Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem that "the Lebanese people are not your people" and "you do not represent the Lebanese people." Aoun stated the Lebanese people are fed up with the war between Israel and Hezbollah, and accused Iran of holding Lebanon as a bargaining chip. He did not rule out a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu but noted it would not happen before an agreement is reached to end the war.
