IDF investigates violent clashes in Huwara after livestock theft report
IDF and Border Police were dispatched to Huwara on Saturday following a report of suspected livestock theft from Israeli civilians. Soldiers worked to remove the civilians and livestock from the area to prevent confrontation. Violent clashes erupted between Israeli civilians and Palestinians, involving rock-throwing and batons. Several Palestinians were reportedly injured. Soldiers used riot dispersal means to break up the gatherings, and security forces remain in the area. The Judea and Samaria District Police opened an investigation. The IDF is also reviewing footage showing an IDF soldier using violence against a Palestinian, calling the actions serious and inconsistent with IDF values. The soldier will face disciplinary proceedings once identified.
