Iranian FM details emerging US deal, claims battlefield victory
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi outlined Iran's position on the emerging US deal in a television interview, stating "the best time to end a war is when we have the upper hand" and claiming Iran is "winning on the battlefield" after standing 40 days against "the world's superpower." Araghchi said the agreement includes two phases with nuclear issues moved to the second phase, and emphasized Iran will "never leave Hezbollah alone in Lebanon." He stated the deal requires US written recognition of Iran's sovereignty and Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon. Araghchi declared the Strait of Hormuz is under Iranian and Omani sovereignty, saying "no one will be able to challenge" this and management "will not return to the format that existed before the war."
