Israel is preparing for a possible Iranian response after 2 IAF fighter jets struck a Hezbollah target in Dahiyeh, Beirut.
After Hezbollah launched 3 UAVs towards Northern Israel since this morning, the IDF decided to respond and targeted a senior Hezbollah liaison officer in Beirut.
The IDF confirmed the strikes.
A statement from PM Netanyahu and Israel Katz said, “Israel will not tolerate fire toward its territory.”
Israel waits for confirmation of results of the targeted elimination.
Meanwhile Al-Araby claims that one person was killed and four wounded as a result of the strike.
It will be interesting to see whether this affects the impending Trump-Iran deal.
Israel suspected Hezbollah would increase fire towards Northern communities to stop the deal or in response to it, and that's exactly what happened.
Israeli officials pushed back sharply against suggestions that Israel required U.S. approval before carrying out its recent strike, saying Washington was notified only after the operation had already been reported to the Israeli public.
"We are not a vassal state," a senior Israeli official said, "We will defend our sovereignty at any cost."
IDF SPOKESMAN STATEMENT:
The Israel Defense Forces carried out a precision strike on a Hezbollah command center in the Dahiyeh neighborhood of Beirut, the IDF announced Sunday.
The targeted headquarters had been used by Hezbollah operatives to advance terror plots against Israeli civilians and IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon, the military said.
The strike came hours after Hezbollah launched aerial threats toward Israeli territory earlier Sunday.
Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for Iran's parliamentary national security committee, issued a stark warning Sunday amid ongoing nuclear negotiations, urging Tehran not to fall into what he called a "miscalculation."
In a post on X, Rezaei said that even if a deal is reached, the path to "disciplining the Zionist regime" must remain on the table. He warned that if Israel is not "controlled" before any agreement is signed, it will act on its own --- implying Iran must retain the capacity to act militarily regardless of diplomatic progress.
