Shas threatens to block coalition bills over Torah student arrests
Shas Chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri announced at a faction meeting that his party will not support any coalition legislation until laws to halt arrests of Torah students and a Basic Law on Torah Study are advanced. Deri stated that "the violent arrests of Torah students must stop," and said the coalition chairman has been informed of the party's position.
