VP Vance denies confrontation with Netanyahu, calls conversation "pleasant but direct"

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance responded to reports of a confrontation with Prime Minister Netanyahu during their Washington meeting, stating "Netanyahu did not confront me. We had a nice and frank conversation." Vance emphasized that Israel remains a U.S. ally and partner, but like other allies such as France or Britain, differences of opinion sometimes arise. "My job is to pursue the interests of only the United States of America," Vance said, adding that he discusses shared objectives when interests align and has frank conversations when viewpoints differ. He described the meeting as "a pleasant but direct conversation."
