Iran Appoints Mohsen Rezaei to National Security Council, Reshuffles Leadership

Mohsen Rezaei has been appointed as the Supreme Leader's representative to Iran's National Security Council, replacing Mohammad Baqer Zolghadr, according to Iranian news agency ISNA. Rezaei, who serves as the Supreme Leader's military advisor, was also appointed by Iran's president as Chairman of the National Security Council. Zolghadr has been reassigned as political advisor to the Supreme Leader. The reshuffle is seen as part of Mojtaba Khamenei's reorganization of the leadership circle around him.
