US Treasury Secretary Details Iran Blockade: Airlines to Be Grounded, Chinese Oil Purchases Halted

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant outlined specific measures in the Iran blockade, stating Iranian airlines will be grounded to cut supply lines from Russia. Besant said China will stop purchasing Iranian oil, noting only about 30 million barrels of Iranian oil currently remain at sea. "If we ground the Iranian airlines—and that is what we will do—then much less supply and aid will enter the country," Besant stated. He added that Iran is not receiving direct financial support from Russia, and the existing oil stockpile at sea will run out.
