When the USS Abraham Lincoln docked at Laem Chabang port in Thailand, the massive aircraft carrier bore visible scars from an extraordinarily demanding deployment. According to a report by The War Zone, the vessel showed extensive rust stains across its hull and a thick band of green algae at the waterline, physical evidence of 286 consecutive days at sea without a genuine shore leave stop, most of them in active combat operations against Iran.
The carrier had departed San Diego in November 2025 for what was initially planned as a routine deployment, but was quickly redirected to the Middle East. It became the spearhead of Operation Epic Fury, which launched on February 28. The extended time at sea without proper maritime maintenance has left its mark on the steel giant that has been protecting thousands of American sailors and Marines.
