White House: "Closing Hormuz Would Be a Serious Mistake"
The White House issued a stern warning Monday amid growing concerns over Iranian threats to maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. “We are closely monitoring the situation regarding the Strait of Hormuz,” a U.S. official said. “It would be a mistake on Iran’s part if it decides to close it.” The message comes as the global energy market watches nervously, following recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian military and nuclear targets.
