Yair Netanyahu Weighs In on Likud Primary

The prime minister's son endorses Osnat Zohar for reserved women's slot and explicitly tells party members not to vote for David Bitan

Yair Netanyahu Weighs In on Likud Primary

As Israel's ruling Likud party prepares for its internal primary elections to determine the party's Knesset slate, Yair Netanyahu, son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has waded into the contest with public endorsements and warnings.

In a post on his social media account, the younger Netanyahu threw his support behind one of the candidates competing for the party's designated women's slot. "I support Osnat Zohar for the new women's slot!" he wrote.

Beyond his endorsement, Netanyahu's son also issued a direct warning to Likud members casting ballots in the primary. He singled out specific candidates he opposes, writing: "Most importantly, don't vote for Keren Attias Bublil, because she is connected to Bitan, and of course not for David Bitan himself."

The intervention marks a rare public foray by the prime minister's son into the internal mechanics of Likud's candidate selection process, as party members prepare to rank their preferred slate for Israel's parliament.
