Failed Israeli Strike in Qatar: New Footage Emerges

New footage from an Israeli strike attempt in Doha has surfaced on social media, documenting the aftermath of an operation that took place on September 9, 2024.

According to Turkish media reports citing an internal Hamas investigation, Israel launched six consecutive strikes using 12 missiles targeting senior Hamas officials gathered in the Qatari capital.

The Hamas leadership had convened at a compound in Doha to discuss a ceasefire proposal transmitted by U.S. President Donald Trump. Prior to the meeting, organizers implemented what sources described as an unusually strict security protocol: senior officials arrived in disguise, their personal communication devices were confiscated, and they were issued secure phones instead.

The person credited with saving the senior leaders was Maem al-Hayya, son of Hamas negotiation team chief Khalil al-Hayya. After the officials arrived, he insisted on relocating them to a different building and enforcing additional security measures. The leaders were moved, and discussion of the Trump proposal began at 2:12 PM.

The Israeli strike commenced at 3:46 PM. Missiles hit multiple targets including al-Hayya's office and family residence. Maem al-Hayya himself was killed in the first strike, and subsequent attacks killed Jihad Labad and other Hamas operatives. Members of al-Hayya's family were wounded, and according to reports, one strike was also directed at a Qatari security unit.

Five minutes after the attack began, an evacuation plan was activated. Senior Hamas officials were extracted from the area separately and transferred to different safe houses, while the wounded were pulled from the rubble and evacuated for medical treatment.

The failed operation reportedly caused significant embarrassment in Israel, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was compelled to apologize for it at Trump's request during a phone call from the White House.
