A leaked diplomatic memo based on U.S. and Israeli intelligence has revealed that Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is unconscious and receiving critical care in the city of Qom.

A diplomatic memo shared with Gulf allies and obtained by international media has revealed the "dire" medical condition of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Ali Khamenei and his presumed successor. According to intelligence assessments from both Israel and the United States, the younger Khamenei is currently paralyzed and unconscious in a medical facility in the holy city of Qom. He was reportedly wounded during the initial Israeli air strike campaign, known as "Operation Genesis," and has not been seen or heard from in public since he was named to his father's position early last month. This revelation confirms that the official statements being released by Iranian state media are likely fabricated by remnants of the regime's inner circle.

A Regime Divided

The news of the leader's incapacitation has triggered an unprecedented wave of criticism within Tehran’s political elite. Many high ranking officials have begun to describe the appointment of Mojtaba as "delusional and extreme," arguing that a dynastic, monarchical succession contradicts the foundational principles of the 1979 revolution that overthrew the Shah. This internal friction has led significant portions of the government to label the new leader as "illegitimate," further weakening the regime's ability to present a united front against the American and Israeli military offensive.

While Mojtaba remains in a coma, a fierce struggle for control has emerged between the pragmatic camp led by President Pezeshkian and the hardline leadership of the Revolutionary Guard. Pezeshkian is reportedly seeking a compromise to end the war, while the Guard commanders continue to demand escalation. This tension, combined with the successful Israeli assassination campaign that has eliminated over 32 top Iranian officials, has left the government in a state of paralysis. As President Trump’s ultimatum looms and the "gates of hell" threaten to open, the regime finds itself leaderless and fighting an internal war for its very survival.
