A military police patrol vehicle that entered Bnei Brak on Sunday afternoon sparked a large-scale protest that blocked traffic on Haida Street in the predominantly ultra-Orthodox city. The incident unfolded when the white military police vehicle drove into a residential neighborhood, where its presence was quickly noticed by local residents. Within minutes, dozens of protesters gathered around the vehicle, with some sitting directly on the road in front of it to prevent it from moving.
The demonstration reflects ongoing tensions in the haredi community over recent arrests of yeshiva students in connection with military draft enforcement. Video footage from the scene shows the military police vehicle nearly completely encircled by residents, including yeshiva students and children, with protesters pressed against the front and sides of the vehicle. Loud protest chants could be heard as bystanders gathered on nearby sidewalks to watch the confrontation.
