As part of the lessons drawn from the October 7 inquiry, the IDF is completing an unprecedented deployment of an advanced command-and-control platform: the "Netz" system, developed by the "Alumot" unit within the Information and Artificial Intelligence Division of the C4I and Cyber Defense Directorate, has already been embedded in more than 1,300 standby units across the country and now connects tens of thousands of front-line fighters.
The system is designed to manage national emergencies and surprise raids in real time, creating full synchronization and direct linkage between civilian standby-unit fighters and IDF forces, Israel Police and other security agencies.
Launch at the push of a button: an AI engine for battle management
The "Netz" system, which began as a reservist initiative when the war broke out and is now led by technology and operations experts in the "Alumot" unit, is built on advanced information infrastructure and artificial intelligence algorithms.
It enables immediate and rapid deployment of forces during a live incident, the formation of a unified operational picture on a single map, and battle management while preventing friendly fire and dramatically shortening the loop from detection to engagement and neutralization.
