Professor Moshe Cohen-Eliya responded Tuesday to the storm surrounding Galia Albin, who spoke dismissively and crudely against "Bibi-ists" and supporters of the prime minister.
In his remarks, Cohen-Eliya wrote: "The viral video of Galia Albin on Avi Shoshan's successful podcast teaches more than anything about the loss of racist shame in Israel. When Albin mimics supporters of Israel's government as a bunch of baboons whose only utterance is 'Bibi. Bibi' in a heavy Mizrahi accent, it's not just Albin talking."
"That's how almost all opposition supporters talk. The Mizrahi Bibi-ist baboon is a problem for them, because he counts exactly the same at the ballot box as the vote of the intelligentsia on the left, the woke people in Israeli academia, and the woke representatives in Israel's leftist media."
"And it's frustrating. What kind of democracy is this? Why do we 'the sophisticated ones' count the same as this baboon? After all, for four years they told us that 'democracy is dangerous,' that it's 'tyranny of the majority,' that it harms citizens' rights. For four years we've had Yitzhak Amit, Barak Medina, and the 'gatekeepers' protecting the old hegemony, and suddenly we, 'the most sophisticated of people', count the same as this miserable baboon, the 'Bibi. Bibi' supporter?"
