Boat capsizes in Eilat, with children on board
A boat has reportedly capsized in Eilat with a number of children on board.


A boat has reportedly capsized today (Wednesday) with a number of children on board.
Magen David Adom provided this initial report: "At 17:53, a report was received at the MDA 101 call center in the Negev region about what appears to be a collision between 2 boats, one of which capsized off the coast of Neve'ot in Eilat. This is only a preliminary report!!! MDA medics and paramedics are currently providing medical treatment to 8 boat passengers who were rescued to shore by the marine police, including: 2 in moderate condition and 6 in mild condition, updates to follow."
The Israel Police said that "Eilat district police forces, including marine police officers, are currently handling a vessel accident resulting from a capsize in the Gulf of Eilat. Several injured people with varying degrees of injuries have been evacuated from the scene. Police forces are at the location conducting searches and locating additional involved individuals."
