In Hamas' living hell
What Really Happened to Edan Alexander During His Time as a Hamas Hostage?
Edan Alexander has begun recounting the horrific abuse he endured in Hamas captivity, including prolonged interrogations, physical torture, and severe untreated wounds that left his body infected and scarred.

Adi Alexander, the father of former hostage Edan who was released last Monday, shared in an interview with the New York Times some of the hardships and harsh testimonies he heard about from his son.
"Edan was handcuffed, beaten and interrogated," he said, "but the interrogations were useless." Adi explained that "Edan was a soldier for only 10 months at the time of his abduction, there was nothing to interrogate him about. They (Hamas) knew more about the IDF than he did."
The father also spoke about the physical conditions his son had in captivity, "He is very thin. They fed him mainly pita, rice, beans and black coffee. His skin turned pale from the lack of sunlight and covered with red sores. His entire body was scratched by bedbug bites. His skin is in terrible condition"
In addition, according to a report by Itamar Eichner on Ynet during the first period of captivity, his captors covered his head with a sack. "The bombs dropped by the air force planes shook the tunnels. It was like an earthquake," Edan told his parents.
From conversations that Alexander had in the last two days with his relatives, it appears that he was held for a significant period in captivity with senior Hamas officials.
At a certain point during his captivity, which marked the beginning of a second chapter for him in captivity, Alexander was transferred to an "upgraded tunnel," which was intended for senior members of the organization. This occurred after Donald Trump was elected President.
