A search that gripped a Gush Etzion settlement Saturday night ended well. Two brothers—ages 3 and 7—who wandered away from home in the late evening were found sleeping outdoors, safe and unharmed.
When the boys went missing, the alarm spread quickly through the community. The Etzion-Yehuda rescue unit scrambled, along with police from the Etzion station and local security teams. But it was the residents who really mobilized. Hundreds showed up at the search command center, ready to help. After a quick briefing, volunteers fanned out across three search zones to comb the area.
Hours into the search, tracking specialists from the rescue unit found them. The brothers were asleep under a tree, bundled up under a tarp and completely fine. They were brought home safely.
