Hamas's Desperate Alert: Ceasefire on the Brink as Israel Delivers Deadly Blows

In response to heightened strikes in the Gaza Strip over the weekend, Hamas leaders communicated to intermediaries that the Israeli Defense Forces' (IDF) operations are destabilizing the truce and must be halted immediately to avoid its collapse, as reported by Channel 12.

Meanwhile, a senior delegation from the organization, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, traveled to Cairo, while instructions were given to operatives in Gaza to elevate their alert status.

Mousa Abu Marzouk, a senior Hamas figure based abroad, clarified in an Al-Jazeera interview on Saturday evening that no messages about resuming hostilities were sent to U.S. officials. "We have not met with Kushner or Witkoff to deliver any such communication," he said. "A planned meeting in Turkey, tied to a Russian-American discussion, was delayed, which in turn postponed any engagement with us. We are dedicated to the ceasefire and urge all involved to honor their obligations while pressuring Israel to end the breaches."

Abu Marzouk added, "The international community compelled Israel to halt operations, yet it seeks any pretext to reignite the conflict. This is evident in the daily advancement of yellow line demarcations, ongoing violations, destruction, and assaults, all driven by an intent to resume full-scale combat."

He emphasized, "Our adherence to every aspect of the ceasefire remains steadfast. Israeli accusations are entirely false and without merit."

Internal Hamas Directives to Operatives:

Following the IDF's announcement on Saturday evening of a successful 24-hour operation that resulted in the elimination or capture of 17 terrorists attempting to flee a tunnel in eastern Rafah, Hamas is grappling with the fallout and seeking to obscure the details. The group's security apparatus dismissed the reports as Israeli psychological warfare involving "manipulated content" that lacks credibility.

Hamas has advised against disseminating images from Israeli sources, arguing that sharing visuals of captured operatives serves as "gratis support for the adversary's propaganda efforts." They further cautioned, "Resist materials designed to sow disorder. Our confrontation with the enemy spans both the battlefield and the information sphere; Israel resorts to perceptual warfare upon failing on the ground."

Netanyahu Addresses Gaza Developments in Cabinet Meeting

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened Sunday's government session by commenting on the situation in Gaza. "Hamas has persistently violated the ceasefire since its inception, and we are responding as necessary," he charged. "Multiple attempts were made to infiltrate our territory past the yellow line and target our troops. We countered these with significant force, inflicting heavy losses, including numerous eliminations and captures from Rafah tunnels."

Netanyahu also dismissed claims of external approvals, stating, "Assertions that we require permissions from various entities are outright fabrications. Our operations are independent. Immediate defensive measures are executed autonomously by the IDF. Broader responses are routed through the Defense Minister and ultimately decided by me, free from outside influence. This is the proper approach, Israel alone safeguards its security."
