Crisis averted, coalition saved: Haredi parties will NOT vote for new elections
The decision was taken a few minutes ago by Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef. It remains unclear whether the proposed draft law will pass the Knesset or the Supreme Court.

After a marathon of meetings and negotiations, Haredi parties have reached an outline of an agreement over a new draft law with MK Yuli Edelstein tonight (Wednesday/Thursday), ending the coalition crisis and preventing early elections.
While the opposition parties say that they still intend to put up a law proposal to disperse the Knesset up for a vote, it seems far less likely to pass than it did just earlier today.
According to Kikar Hashabbat reporter Yishay Cohen, the proposed law includes the following sanctions package:
- Some of the personal sanctions (driver's license, prohibition from leaving the country) will apply immediately
- Additional personal sanctions will take effect after one year if targets are not met
- Institutional sanctions (budget for yeshivas and kollelim) will take effect in six months if targets are not met
It remains unclear whether the law will pass under the current government or be approved by the Supreme Court. But for now, the Netanyahu coalition is still holding strong.
