We all want out brothers and sisters to come home

Hostage’s brother makes emotional plea to Hamas in Al Jazeera interview: “Let’s get this over with”

Moshe Or, the brother of Hamas hostage Avinatan Or, made a direct appeal to Hamas via Al Jazeera, urging them to release information about his brother and calling for a full hostage-release deal in exchange for ending the war. He also pressed the Israeli government to act urgently, warning that partial deals are not enough and public support exists for a comprehensive agreement.

In a rare and emotional appearance on the Qatari news channel Al Jazeera, Moshe Or, the brother of Hamas-held hostage Avinatan Or, issued a heartfelt plea both to Hamas and to Israeli leadership. Speaking directly to the militant group, Or demanded full transparency regarding his brother’s condition and called for a comprehensive deal that would lead to the release of all remaining hostages in exchange for an end to the ongoing conflict.

"We are looking for every piece of information about my brother," said Or during the televised interview. "How long does he have to remain in captivity until the prime minister decides that he should be returned?"

Moshe Or urged Israel's government to act decisively and pursue a single, wide-ranging agreement to bring home all captives. He stressed that public support was behind such a resolution. "The right thing is one comprehensive deal, which will put an end to the affair and return Avinatan and the other kidnapped people home – in exchange for an end to the fighting. We will not agree to a partial deal. There is a large majority of the people who support this."

He also expressed deep concern over the psychological and physical toll on the hostages, referencing reports from those who were previously released. "What scared them most of all were the airstrikes by the Israeli Air Force. We just want to know what Avinatan's condition is."

Addressing Hamas directly, Or acknowledged that many hostages had already been freed in an organized fashion and urged for continued cooperation. "You released most of the hostages, and everything was handled in an orderly manner. We can and should make one deal that includes everyone. Let's get this over with."

He concluded with a personal call to action for Israel’s leadership, expressing frustration with the ongoing stalemate. "How long does he have to remain in captivity until the prime minister decides to return him?" he asked. "Do whatever is necessary – like I am doing."

The interview highlights growing pressure from families of hostages for a comprehensive resolution, as the conflict continues and diplomatic options remain on the table.
