An Israeli Air Force aircraft fired a missile at a suspicious motorcycle Thursday afternoon after it was spotted approaching IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon north of the Litani River, Lebanese sources reported.

The strike took place between the villages of Zuta al-Sharqiyya and Mayfadoun in the Nabatieh sector. The identity of the motorcycle's riders and their intentions remain unclear, but the IDF acted preemptively to neutralize what it assessed as an immediate threat to its forces.

The incident marks the fourth such strike in the span of just a few days, underscoring the persistent security friction in the area despite the ongoing ceasefire.

On Wednesday, Givati Reconnaissance Battalion forces struck two armed Hezbollah operatives who crossed into the security zone on the Ali Taher ridge and posed a threat to IDF soldiers. Tuesday saw two additional incidents in the same sector: in the morning, forces identified and struck an armed terrorist cell operating near IDF troops north of the security zone, and hours later, aircraft targeted four terrorists riding a bulldozer and motorcycle who had crossed into the security zone and were closing in on Israeli forces.

The IDF said in response to the escalating pattern: "The IDF will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm Israeli civilians or its forces, and will continue to act to remove immediate threats."

Defense Minister Israel Katz reinforced Israel's posture on Wednesday, stating that Israeli forces would not withdraw from southern Lebanon regardless of American pressure. "Soldiers inside, residents outside. The infrastructure is destroyed, the buildings are threatening and ruined. We are not retreating," Katz said, adding that the IDF "must be on the enemy's side" to protect northern communities from within the territory itself.

IDF forces continue to operate in southern Lebanon under Operation Lion's Roar, deployed up to ten kilometers from the Israeli border and controlling the high ridgelines in the region.
