A severe air pollution warning has been issued for Gush Dan, Jerusalem, the Coastal Plain, the Inner Lowlands, Judea, and the Negev. According to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, high concentrations of respirable particles are currently being measured, caused by heavy dust transported by southwestern winds from North Africa.

Forecast for Monday: Air pollution levels are expected to reach "high to very high" in all regions of the country starting Sunday evening and lasting throughout Monday.

Sensitive populations, including heart and lung patients, the elderly, children, and pregnant women, are urged to avoid strenuous outdoor physical activity. The general public is advised to minimize intense outdoor exercise.

Air quality is expected to improve slowly and gradually beginning Tuesday, February 10.

The Ministry of Health continues to monitor air quality stations nationwide and will provide updates as conditions evolve.
