Reuven Azar, Israel's ambassador to India, said Wednesday morning in an unequivocal statement: Israel supports India's right to self-defense.

Azar stated: "Terrorists need to know that there is no place to hide from their horrific crimes against the innocent."

A short time ago, the Indian armed forces launched 'Operation Sindor', attacking terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, from which terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

According to a statement from the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the operation was carried out a short time ago and its purpose was to neutralize terrorist camps actively involved in planning and carrying out attacks against India. A total of nine targets were hit during the strike.Officials said the strikes were targeted, measured and not escalatory, deliberately avoiding Pakistani military facilities. "India has shown significant restraint both in the choice of targets and in the method of execution," the statement said.

Twenty-six people, including 23 Hindu tourists, were murdered by terrorists in the Beisaran meadow, a popular destination in Palagam in Kashmir, on April 22. The terrorists, who belong to the Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) organization, demanded that the victims memorize Islamic verses and forced them to take off their pants to verify their non-Muslim religious identity (circumcision test) before shooting them in front of their families, including their wives and children. The massacre sparked outrage across India and escalated tensions between India and Pakistan when New Delhi vowed to avenge the killing.
