Murdered in Brutal Stabbing
Seconds from Tragedy: Video Shows Baby and Grandfather Escaping Terrorist Moments Before Attack | WATCH
Surveillance footage has captured a chilling near-miss involving a baby and his grandfather just seconds before a terrorist began a deadly ramming and stabbing spree across northern Israel.

Newly released security footage has revealed the terrifyingly close brush with death a grandfather and his infant grandson experienced during Friday’s deadly terror attack in northern Israel. The video shows the pair entering their home just moments before an Arab terrorist drove into their neighborhood to begin a violent rampage that ultimately claimed the lives of two Israelis and wounded three others. Had they remained outside for even one second longer, they would have been the first victims of what authorities are calling a "rolling terror attack."
The assailant, identified as 37-year-old Ahmad Abu al-Rub, began his spree in Beit She’an. Driving a stolen vehicle at high speeds onto a designated bicycle path, he struck 68-year-old Shimshon Mordechai, a local resident with disabilities. Witness accounts provided to the police indicate that Mordechai was dragged by the car for approximately 160 feet. He was critically injured and was pronounced dead shortly after being reached by emergency services.
Continuing his path of destruction, the terrorist drove east on Highway 71 toward the Ein Harod area. Near the entrance to Kibbutz Tel Yosef, he intentionally rammed a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Aviv Maor. Following the collision, Maor attempted to flee on foot to save her life. Police reports state that the attacker pursued her into a nearby area and stabbed her to death. While some initial rumors suggested further violence, officials have clarified that reports of sexual assault are unconfirmed as the investigation into her final moments continues.
The violence finally ended near a local junction when a civilian bystander confronted and shot the terrorist, neutralizing the threat. Authorities confirmed that Abu al-Rub had entered Israel illegally just days prior to the attack and resided in a village less than 15 miles from the scene. He was hospitalized under arrest for his wounds. The community now mourns the loss of Aviv Maor, described as a nature lover and talented photographer, and Shimshon Mordechai, as Israel grapples with the security breach that allowed an illegal resident to carry out such a heinous act.
