The Israeli woman killed in a car accident in Panama on Wednesday has been identified as Noa Yitzhak, 22, from Ma’ale Adumim. The announcement was made Thursday morning by the Ma’ale Adumim municipality.
Noa was the daughter of Yael and Doron Yitzhak. Her father, Doron, is a dedicated and well-known employee of the local municipality.
"The municipality and the entire city embrace the family during this difficult hour," the city's official statement read. "We share in their heavy grief and stand by them in these difficult moments."
Local authorities and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs are currently coordinating with Panamanian officials to expedite the process of returning her body to Israel for burial in her hometown.
A String of International Road Tragedies
This incident marks another heartbreaking loss for Israeli families traveling abroad. In recent months, several fatal accidents involving Israeli citizens have been reported:
- France (March 2026): 12-year-old Tamar Haberfeld from Haifa was killed in a minibus accident while on a trip with her father and twin sister. Fourteen other Israelis sustained minor injuries in that crash.
- Egypt (Two months ago): A 30-year-old Breslov Hasid was killed in a road accident in Sharm El-Sheikh while traveling toward Uman, Ukraine. Two other Israeli citizens were injured in the same incident.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuing to monitor the situation in Panama and assisting the Yitzhak family.
