A large wildfire is rapidly spreading through the Jordan Valley this evening (Monday), fueled by strong winds and dry vegetation. Firefighting teams from the Shomron district, assisted by six aircraft from the “Elad” aerial unit, are battling the blaze.
“The fire is moving north to south along the Jordan River, in a complex terrain filled with dry grass and trees,” said Deputy Fire Chief Avi Ben Saadon. “Ground access is extremely limited, which is why aircraft were launched to help contain the front.”
The fire remains uncontrolled as of this hour.
