The parents of Ran Gviyli, an IDF Yassam fighter kidnapped to Gaza on October 7th, faced harassment from anti-Israel protesters during an advocacy mission in Miami, Florida.
Ran's parents are currently in the United States as part of a delegation aimed at raising awareness about the plight of hostages held in Gaza and garnering international support. According to footage captured by advocacy activist Noa Magid, the protesters hurled hostile chants at the grieving parents whose son's body remains held by Hamas.
Magid described the demonstrators as attempting to intimidate the bereaved parents during their advocacy efforts. The protesters reportedly displayed signs and engaged in confrontational behavior designed to disrupt the family's mission.
Talik Gviyli, Ran's mother, chose not to back down from the confrontation. Rather than retreat or ignore the protesters, she directly engaged them. She tore down a sign held by protesters that read "Zionism = Terrorism," responding firmly to what she viewed as support for the terrorism that claimed her son.
