On the way to normalization?

The Bloomberg network reported today (Thursday) that in recent days, the Saudi government has increased its efforts to arrest citizens who have published anti-Israeli posts related to the war in Gaza.

According to the report, the wave of arrests was carried out due to fear for the security of the state following the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023. Among those arrested were people who wrote social media posts criticizing the conduct of Israel and the US in Gaza. Some of the posts of those arrested date back more than 10 years ago.

It was also reported that the move is a signal on the part of Riyadh regarding their willingness to sign a normalization agreement with Israel against the background of reports regarding talks between the Saudis and the US on the issue. However, the Saudis have conditioned all previous talks on Israel's willingness to work towards creating a Palestinian state.
