An extensive fire broke out today (Monday) in the open area of Kiryat Shmonah, with a thick smoke blanketing the city. Teams of firefighters are working in the area to prevent the fire from spreading to residential homes.

The spokesperson for Kiryat Shmonah said 11 fire teams are on site and that "we ask residents remaining in the city to stay in their homes and close windows."

There were also enormous fires in the Golan Heights yesterday, after a heavy salvo of rockets against the Golan Division headquarters in Nafah. Hezbollah claimed they fired dozens of rockets, which did not cause damage but which led to a major fire around the city of Katzrin.
