The U.S. embassy in Beirut issued a fresh advisory on Saturday urging all American citizens to leave Lebanon immediately.

"Due to the unpredictable nature of the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, as well as recent explosions throughout Lebanon, including in Beirut, the U.S. embassy strongly encourages U.S. citizens to depart Lebanon while commercial travel options remain available," the advisory stated.

The embassy further warned, "At this time, commercial flights are still operating, but at a reduced capacity. If the security situation deteriorates, these options may no longer be available."

This follows the U.S. elevating its travel advisory for Lebanon to the highest level, "Do not travel," after an Israeli Air Force strike in southern Beirut on July 30 killed top Hezbollah operative Fuad Shukr.
