Forces of the 162nd Division have been operating for over two months to eliminate the Hamas presence in Jebaliya and Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip and to dismantle all terrorist infrastructure there.

Thus far, IDF forces have eliminated and arrested multiple terrorists, destroyed a great deal of terrorist infrastructure and underground tunnels and significantly weakened Hamas' power in the northern Gaza area.

The IDF said that the forces of the division will continue to operate in the area to thoroughly purge it from Hamas terrorists and infrastructure.

IDF operations continue as hostage negotiations are also ongoing. Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the fall of Bashar Assad may help advance such a deal, and Qatari media is claiming that Hamas has already submitted a list of hostages to be released in the first phase of a deal in exchange for partial IDF withdrawal from key strategic areas.
