Druze Mayor: We fear ISIS will take over Syria

According to Moghrabi, the Druze in Syria were "very surprised by the speed at which the regime fell," and there is uncertainty about what will happen next and who will seize power. He mentioned that some of the rebel groups aim to bring peace to the region, and if they take power, he sees potential for a positive future. However, he expressed deep concerns about the threat of extremist groups, specifically the al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State (ISIS).

Moghrabi also pointed out that when he hears rebel leader Abu Mohammad al-Jolani praise the jihadists for toppling the Assad regime, it raises alarm bells. To prevent these extremist groups from exploiting the power vacuum near the border, Moghrabi believes Israel's operations within Syrian territory are necessary.
