Anti-Israel protesters were arrested after attempting to breach the wall of UAV Engines Limited, an Elbit Systems subsidiary, in Lichfield, UK. The activists used cherry pickers equipped with barbed wire barricades to access and damage the factory wall with hammers and chisels.
Elbit Systems, Israel's largest defense contractor, supplies military equipment including drones, surveillance systems, and precision munitions to the IDF. The company's technology has been extensively deployed in Gaza during the current conflict, with its drones and targeting systems playing a key role in IDF operations since October 7.
Palestine Action, which claimed responsibility, released footage showing police monitoring the incident before making arrests. The five suspects, aged 20-60, face charges of aggravated trespass, criminal damage, and conspiracy to destroy property. They were later released on bail.
The group celebrated their release with Palestinian flags and protest chants. Palestine Action stated the attack was meant to disrupt Elbit's UK operations in response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
This marks the latest in a series of protests at the site. In November, two women were arrested for blocking the factory entrance. Separately, activist Bryn Higgs, 60, appeared in court Friday for a July incident at the same facility.
The group has pledged to continue targeting Elbit-linked facilities, claiming the company's operations support military actions across the Middle East.
