IDF Chief of Staff Reaffirms commitment to reservists with rewards and support

On Tuesday, IDF Chief of Staff LTG Herzi Halevi conducted a situational assessment and lit the seventh Hanukkah candle in the Central Gaza Strip Corridor. He was joined by several high-ranking officers, including MG Yaron Finkelman, the Commanding Officer of the Southern Command; BG Yoav Brunner, the Commanding Officer of the 99th Division; COL Ido Kass, the Commanding Officer of the 551st Brigade; and the reservist soldiers stationed in the area.

During his remarks, Halevi expressed the IDF's and the government's commitment to rewarding reservists for their sacrifices. “The IDF, alongside the government, is working diligently to allocate significant financial resources for rewards and benefits. While these words don’t fully capture the magnitude of what you and your people are doing, they are what we have. This is a way to show gratitude for the sacrifices you make, and I urge you to pass on my immense appreciation to your families. I know that their support is crucial, and while we acknowledge that it’s never enough, we are doing everything we can within our means to continually adapt to the evolving situation,” Halevi stated.

He emphasized the importance of the IDF’s commitment to its reservists, citing the lessons learned over the past decade. “We are fully dedicated to training, equipping, and respecting our reserves—that is the contract we have with you. Our goal is to ensure you are prepared, and I know that when the time comes, you will rise to the challenge with the same excellence you show today. I deeply appreciate your contributions, and I hope we can end this holiday with more light, taking strength from the darkness. Thank you.”
