Fire in Bat Yam leaves at least 20 injured, including one in serious condition
At least 20 people were injured in a fire that broke out in a 10-story building on Simcha Holzberg Street in Bat Yam, including a 75-year-old man who was taken to the hospital sedated and on a ventilator.


At least 20 people were injured in a fire that broke out this evening (Monday) in a 10-story residential building on Simcha Holzberg Street in Bat Yam. MDA paramedics and medics who were called to the scene are providing them with medical treatment.
According to the emergency teams' report, a 75-year-old man was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital sedated and intubated. Two other men, around 25 years old, were moderately injured. In total, about 20 people were evacuated from the building and are currently being examined by MDA teams.
Fire and Rescue reported that "around 8:00 PM, several calls were received at the 102 hotline of the Dan District regarding a fire in a building on Simcha Holzberg Street in Jaffa, on the border with Bat Yam. Seven teams and a crane were dispatched to the scene, commanded by a shift commander. Upon arrival, they saw black smoke and flames on the scaffolding of a 9-story building. Firefighters are making efforts to reach the fire and are conducting searches to rule out trapped individuals."
