As Israel's political map takes shape ahead of the candidate list deadline, Knesset Member Yuli Edelstein has publicly confirmed for the first time that a political alliance between center-right parties is set to materialize in the coming days.
During an interview on Radio Srugim with hosts Ofer Hadad and Amalia Duek, Edelstein was asked directly about behind-the-scenes negotiations and the possibility of running on a joint ticket with National Unity party leader Benny Gantz.
When the hosts pressed him on whether a merger with Gantz would happen soon, Edelstein responded unequivocally: "The answer is yes."
The announcement comes amid weeks of intensive contacts and meetings within the center and liberal-right camp, where several political figures, including Edelstein, Gantz, Gila'ad Erdan, and others, have been working to prevent vote loss below the electoral threshold and establish a unified, broad list ahead of the elections. With just a week and a half remaining before candidate lists must be submitted, the first major center-right merger appears to be taking concrete form.
