"Left Has No Path to Form a Government"

Prominent attorney Guy Busi delivers stark assessment of opposition bloc's prospects in upcoming elections, says even with Arab parties they fall short of majority

Attorney Guy Busi delivered a blunt assessment of the opposition's electoral prospects in an interview on Radio 103FM, declaring that the left-wing bloc faces a severe problem and currently has no viable path to forming a government.

"The Israeli left on its best polling day reaches 52 mandates," Busi stated. "All the surveys from specific channels are part of consciousness engineering, they're lying to the public. Eisenkot cannot form a government not only with Ra'am but he also needs Hadash-Ta'al, there is no way for the left to form a government in Israel."

Blue and White party chairman Benny Gantz recently told The Times of Israel's Lazar Focus podcast that he would halt his election campaign if polls conducted in the final week of the race show his party failing to cross the electoral threshold and enter the Knesset.

"I have a commitment only to my voters," Gantz said. "I can guarantee that their vote won't be thrown in the trash, because we will pass the threshold, or I won't run in the last week or so. So no vote will be wasted."

Gantz has repeatedly denied throughout recent months that he would withdraw from the race, insisting he would remain in the contest until the end.
