Journalist Raviv Drucker appeared on the 'All In' podcast and launched a scathing attack on Channel 12 commentator Amit Segal.
"I never imagined that Amit Segal, the supremely talented journalist, the intelligent and knowledgeable one, would turn into a propaganda body," Drucker said. He went on to compare Segal to "a personality-cult propaganda channel, in the style of Channel 14."
Bad blood has run between the two for years, but their latest clash centered on Yair Golan's decision to renege on his promise to Einav Zangauker regarding a reserved spot on the Democrats party list.
The confrontation began when Drucker launched a direct assault on Golan's attempted explanation. Golan had expressed regret over disappointing Zangauker but claimed he had decided not to use his authority to reserve a spot for her.
"This is a continuation of Thursday's manipulation, some kind of rhetorical exercise, as if you considered reserving and decided not to and you're sorry you disappointed," Drucker wrote sharply. "That's just not the truth. You promised to reserve and you broke your promise. If you've already decided to join the dishonorable club of politicians who don't keep their word, the minimum is to admit it and truly apologize, not this pathetic spin."
Segal was quick to respond to Drucker's words, pointing out what he saw as a double standard in media coverage: "Interesting, he didn't get so agitated and upset when Bennett broke a signed promise not to sit with Meretz, Lapid and Ra'am. Could it be, and I raise the possibility cautiously, that we're dealing with a hypocrite and a sanctimonious person? Again, just a possibility."
Drucker's counter-response to Segal was personal and cutting: "I assume the option of writing against someone supposedly on your side never crossed your mind. I cautiously raise the possibility that we're dealing with someone who has forgotten what journalism is."
