Hamas terrorists made three separate attempts over the past month to kill and kidnap Israeli troops deployed within the Yellow Line zone in the Gaza Strip, according to military reports.
The incidents, which were not previously disclosed to the public, resulted in the elimination of numerous terrorists. Defense sources note that only by narrow margins did the ambushes fail to result in the capture of Israeli soldiers. The repeated incursions took place directly within the security perimeter established under operational guidelines.
Following these severe encounters, the Israel Defense Forces withdrew ground forces from the specific positions involved in the clashes. Military commanders subsequently shifted tactics to executing pinpoint strikes against identified threats in the sector rather than maintaining a permanent ground presence in those immediate spots.
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has maintained strict operational directives regarding the protection of troops operating near the boundary. Defense officials confirmed that military units under Southern Command continue to act against immediate dangers while maintaining vigilance along the perimeter.
"Our troops continue operating along the Yellow Line to clear the area and eliminate terrorist strongholds," stated Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir during a recent situation assessment, as reported by REUTERS. "We must be prepared for a rapid transition to large-scale activity to establish operational control if required."
The military reiterates that any approach toward troop positions across the boundary line is considered a direct threat, and forces are instructed to engage immediately to prevent further infiltration attempts.
