Diaspora Minister Amichai Shikli launched a sharp attack this morning on Amcha Yisrael party chairman Ofer Winter, following Winter's statement that he seeks to serve as an independent defense minister, and argued in an interview with Gideon Oko and Amichai Atali on 103fm that Winter's run endangers the right-wing bloc.
"What is an independent defense minister? He operates disconnected from the government? Disconnected from the coalition? He's not subordinate to the cabinet?" Shikli asked during the interview. "He says 'it doesn't matter in which government', meaning: 'I want to be defense minister, and I don't care in which government'. What disappointed me is the understanding that he has no commitment to the bloc. He claimed he's part of the bloc and then he comes with a statement that contradicts itself."
