Ex-Likud MK: "Netanyahu's mistake"

Tally Gotliv, a former Likud MK now running with the Otzma Yehudit party, addressed claims Monday surrounding intelligence that preceded the October 7 massacre, asserting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had no knowledge of the impending attack and that warning signs were deliberately concealed from him.

Opening her statement, she clarified that despite her move to Otzma Yehudit, her loyalty to the prime minister remains unchanged: "My loyalty to PM Netanyahu does not depend on anything, even when his circle is busy briefing against the great Otzma Yehudit party."

She then turned directly to Netanyahu's responsibility for the events leading up to the massacre, claiming that critical intelligence never reached him. "On this day when lies are being hurled at the PM, I, a candidate of the Otzma Yehudit party, emphasize that not only did the PM not know a single thing about the October inferno, they deliberately hid the terrible warning signs of the war from him," she wrote.

She went on to identify what she described as Netanyahu's error: "The PM's mistake was that he chose to be statesmanlike and not to utter the words rebellion and coup that were carried out against him."

According to her, that choice exacted a price from Netanyahu: "The cost of this excessive statesmanship is the mud and lies that were thrown and will be thrown at him from the workshop of those guilty of the inferno, who are busy whitewashing themselves and sanctifying every means along the way."
